Why are our autos so drab in color these days?

Seeing a powder blue late 60’s vehicle in traffic earlier just brought attention to how boring the colors are on many modern vehicles. Black, gray, beige, white, silver. Are we just in a serious phase?

There are still many vehicles produced in obnoxious colors. Not really sure what the point of this thread is.

because any color other than white or silver is a pain in the arse to keep looking halfway decent. I've simply given up with my black truck

Classic cars like that usually don't have some factory cheap paint job on at the time

Drive to North Baton Rouge and reassess your post.

Look at the color pallates for the most popular vehicles in America and get back to us Chief.

A primer gray quarter panel is still drab

If it floats your boat you can go ahead and paint your auto pink.

Fewer paint choices means higher production numbers.
Market isn't demanding colors. If it were, the automakers would respond.

He's probably talking about grabber blue or similar.
Still a lot of cars in similar colors made today too.

It was the same way back in the day. Sorry you don't get that people aren't spending money to restore a boring brown sedan.

You’ve been particularly ornery lately

That Lincoln blue is really cool. Will probably be a minor percentage of all of them sold.

I think he is one of 2 or 3 posters that always shows up to tell me my threads aren’t good enough for Tiger Droppings.

The majority of the population buys a car as an appliance. That’s why Camry’s sell so well. The majority of appliances only come in boring colors. Makes sense to me.
