I’m sure I can sketch one out that looks better than those super skinny ones.

And I’ll make it wheelchair accessible.

Love the New Skyscraper in OKC ...Put that city on the map

The Thunder already put them on the map. All that tower will do is make whatever existing skyline it has look out of place.

Eh, growth isn’t always great. Downtown Austin was never my style anyway, but these massive glass apartments have been built, and the techies that have moved in have strong armed the bars and clubs into not playing music after 11.

It was awesome. There were days where we were above the fog and it felt like we were floating in the sky.

Sometimes it would just hit me like an epiphany, "Damn, I'm over 60 stories in the air right now..."

Yes it does. I find the ruins of Detroit fascinating as well. It’s nice that it has cleaned up a bit. There’s some great homes and auto ruins over there.

Not arguing with you, but who decides such things?

I think it’s a good looking building. Just curious on who determines what the style is.

Then do it and show us what you came up with that is better than anything in any of the pics you showed us.

So on a form somewhere someone lists “art deco” as the style?

I mean I can see where they incorporated some of the Chrysler building’s touches into the big steel arches, but my question was more meant to poke at the notion that it’s entirely subjective and always will be.

Some people in NYC were horrified at the Chrysler building and ESB when they were built

Not exactly

The developer might give some input by showing examples of existing structures that they want the new development to emulate. Sometimes they may leave that decision to the architectural firm they have in-house or retain.
