Some avoid recalls by selling to customers with low expectations.

I am patiently waiting for Toyota to release a 1 ton diesel to the US market. It would instantly dominate. I keep telling myself itll happen soon.

But the money leaves. Seems kinda arbitrary.
The salaries paid to everyone working at the US plants leave?
Where do they go?
If you’re referring to corporate profits ultimately funneling back to Japan, why do you care? This doesnt hurt us or our economy in any way.
They have invested billions in US manufacturing and will continue to do so.
Ford moving to Mexico is only the first step. I will say, the UAW are mostly to blame and have dug their own graves, acting like the entitled pricks they are.
Thats why a lot of foreign manufacturers are building in right to work states. They pay good wages but don't have to worry about being held hostage by union workers - they don't have to compromise on the quality of their vehicles just to save money.

Yep, well said.

Ohio is a right to work state, right? I think Michigan recently pushed to switch to a "right to work" state.

I own three Fords. That’s all I will drive, and for one reason: it is the only car with keypad entry. I don’t carry keys; I just leave them in the car.

Modern cars have keyless entry and the door locks often can be operated via an app on your phone or watch.

Frankly I rather the foreign cars being built in their origin country. Last thing I need is Billy Joe fricking around while he's torquing down the engine in his shorts and baseball cap. Meanwhile Kenji over there following all the protocols in his all while clean suit.

This
shouldn't matter at all if this
is the reality.
I mean, what good does it do for the average American or Southerner if some suits have their Corporate Headquarters in the US, but all the actual jobs have been outsourced overseas? It doesn't do a bit of good for anyone other than those suits.
I guess they could feel a sense of pride for buying something that is "Managed in the USA".

This the incident that the driver was on the 911 call and went through the intersection? They had an all weather floor mat on top of the standard floor mat that caught the accelerator pedal and held it. It was on the interstate when it was stuck.

Toyota and Mazda are teaming up to build a manufacturing plant outside Huntsville to go with the Toyota engine facility already there.

All I have to do to unlock my Accord is have the keys in my pocket and touch the door handle.

Good question, I had to explain this to this fat Karen type lady with a thick Redneck accent. I kept telling her how a Camry had more American parts on it than a Ford, she just looked at me with a confused look on her face and said "bUd DaBs a jAp cAr!"
