I own a 2002 Tacoma that I will never part with......but I buy a new truck every 2 years for a write off. If Toyota ever makes a 20+mpg Tundra, well that would be the best, most reliable truck on the road. Had a 2015 RAM Bighorn that was the most comfortable and best MPG I’ve owned. Traded for a new F-150 last year, has more room and power. They all have tradeoffs but RAM is fine product these days since Fiat took control.

Had a 2002 Tacoma that I bought new. Around 2006 at about 65,000 mi it started running like shite. Turns out the catalytic converter(s) were bad. I don't remember exactly but I want to say it cost me between $1500 and $2000 to fix it. Sold it a year later and I won't buy another one. Friend had the same problem with his

Still better than a dodge tho, so there's that

Rams look really good. I’d consider one.

Just dumped off an F-250 king ranch that I was expecting to get around 250k out of, was the biggest pos I’ve ever owned, and I’ve owned a few Fords, spent enough repairing it between 100-120k to buy a new half ton.
What year and what issues?

Meh, I’ve got 200k+ on mine, bought it in 03 with 12k on it, and never changed anything but an axle boot and the oil. It’s strickly a hunting truck now, and it’s still a beast in 4L 3rd. It’ll go where most side by sides go.

Sorry you got a rare Yota lemon bro.....

I'm on my third Ram and have had no problems with any of them. I just bought a Laramie. Awesome truck. Couldn't be happier.

I buy cars/trucks for a living. The Hemi is a piece of shite motor once you have 80k on it, and I have endless shop bills to prove it.

I loved my 2000 dodge when I had it. Once I got a newer truck I realized how much of a piece of shite it was.

Anecdotal experience:

1997 Grand Caravan with 3.8 V6.
Best minivan on the market in the 90s.
Had 227,000 miles on it when sold in 2010.
It took FIVE TRANSMISSIONS to get to that mileage.

It was a great family vehicle but I will never own a Chrysler product.

Can’t believe you kept it after the fourth transmission

By that point my mom was committed.

Transmission no. 2 was full price, then 3, 4, and 5 were under the 3 year warranty. Apparently, no. 5 was a good one, because it lasted the final 50,000 miles until she sold the van. The weird thing is that they all failed differently.

No. 1 grenaded itself around 135k miles
No. 2 wouldn't hold 4th gear and kept switching between 3rd and 4th on the interstate
No. 3 wouldn't shift properly when it was cold until it had warmed up for a few minutes
No. 4 had an internal blockage that kept fluid from circulating, so it burned up

So, technically only no. 1 and no. 4 completely failed.

A picture from the year it was sold.

They are also the least expensive of full size pickup trucks, so with all things lowest price, there is a stigma

I agree that the new limited editions look great and are very nice on the inside. Dodge finally stepped up their game with last years model

Never heard any dodge owner say this about any dodge vehicle.

Got a 2004 2500 with a little over 200K. Got the 5.9L diesel and it is a beast.

Looked at new trucks, but I refuses to pay what they want for a new one. I'm retired, so it's no biggie for me to own a new one. Besides, I don't drive that much anymore. less then 5K a year.

Only Chrysler product I ever owned was a Plymouth Voyager we bought used when I was in school and our daughter was an infant. It lasted maybe 3 years before the motor blew up in it.

I’ve had 11 Chevy/GMC full size trucks all but 2 were brand new. Never not once have I had to do anything but change the oil in any of those GM trucks and put well over 100K on all of them.

Last year I bought a ‘17 Silverado and a few months later a good friend of mine bought a Ram. Both comparable vehicles. Ram was more comfortable but weirder (is that even a word) to operate than the Chevy. I liked a lot of the Ram’s features. He told me to wait and see how it worked out for him. Last week he traded it off for an F250 King Ranch. He said reason was that he had already had a host of issues with the screen and quite frankly it was so ugly he was embarrassed to drive it.

I would consider one but they are just too ugly in my opinion.
