Why all the skepticism of Elon Musk from the OT?

Tesla and SpaceX are kicking arse, and he seems to have a good grasp of the issues facing society today.

The OT seems kind of split on him, it's the poliboard that hates him with a passion.

I need to get one of his Occupy Mars tee shirts.

Elon is a great guy if you get to know him. He is proud of his English Heritage, and he should be.

Most of the poliboard likes it when people take a break from wokeness and like it when somebody famous espouses an opinion they share regardless of lots of other things they don’t like. Hence they’ll quote somebody like Shaun King when he says something they like, and go after him 2 days later.
That being said , he’s an unstable genius. I did appreciate that his goals on energy aren’t done to just shite on the oil industry or gas engines. He said I stand on the shoulders of geniuses and am just trying to get us to the next level with clean travel. While I don’t think Tesla’s are all that, I can at least appreciate somebody who doesn’t demonize an entire industry without offering a better solution.

People are slow to adapt and change. Sometimes it is good and sometimes it is bad. The guy is revolutionizing cars and space travel so more than a few of us feel the need to say frick him

I appreciate his honesty as to the scalability of electric vehicles.
Amazingly, investors don't take this truth to heart.

That’s the kind of attitude only people with “frick you” money can afford to have. Musk has it. POTUS has it.

So you know him? Most people who have worked closely with him end up hating him and talking about what an a-hole he is and how hard he is to work with.

He is proud of his English Heritage, and he should be.
His dad and both his grandfathers were pieces of shite though.
He's a shitty dude but most people don't even know the half of it. He just already rubs people the wrong way bc he's a cocky rich kid, who's a smart and talented guy, yes, but misrepresents himself as some kind of genius inventor and intellectual when in reality he's always essentially just been the money man and hasn't invented shite. He wants to take all the credit for PayPal, Tesla, and Space X, but when something goes wrong he always wants to blame the people doing the real heavy lifting and work. If you look at the history of PayPal and how that came to be you'll find out how shady Musk is as a business men, and if he had everything his way with that he would've sunk that ship before it ever really got going.
He also likes to misrepresent himself as someone who worked his way up from the bottom, starting out with nothing, when in reality his dad owns half of a freaking African Emerald mine which he aquired under shady circumstances btw. Also, his dad killed 3 guys.

what did he say
He's basically stated that electric can't produce 100s of millions of vehicles.
Kind of in line with him saying Tesla stock way overvalued.
I'll be honest. I doubted. But, Tesla appears to make a cool car.

Elon is going to have to put 220 in my garage and widen it for actually fitting 2 vehicles or ill just keep using gas. I really don't see this changing in the next 15 years either. Revolution!

Damn dude. That's a lot of envy towards people you don't know.
Do you think Space-X, or a similiar company, would be where they are now if Elon wasn't around? Do you even know the story?

Not true. I like Elon. I like him even more now because everything he said in that tweet is true. If he eventually gets me awesome internet out here in BFE I might do things for him

You can say it was all his upbringing but there are millions of trust fund kids who never reach anything close to Musk. If he was a one hit wonder than PayPal would be all he was known for. I'm guessing a lot of this has to do with his position on Covid. History will prove that the lockdown was wrong just like history proved how wrong the Iraq/Afghanistan war was. 4 trillion dollars and the worst unemployment since the great depression for a virus with a .1-.2% mortality. Musk will keep making the world a better place and you can keep talking about what a shitty person his dad was.

The Karen’s hate him because he’s cocky and has in the past agreed with OMB on occasion.
