Ah. A place I've already moved away from and don't have much desire to go back to other than for proximity to family & longtime friends.

You can spend $40,000 a year to send your kid to an elite private school in NOLA, or spend the same in Houston on property taxes, live in your mansion and your kid gets the same if not better education in a public school.

you really think "houston suburb high school" is a comparable environment to newman or country day?

Well if it's a suburb high school the property taxes won't be anywhere near 40K unless you really are in a huge mansion
