Want to go but pretty unimpressed with the lineup. The only things I'd really care to see are the P-51, F-16, and Blue Angels.

Not much cool stuff on static display this year either.

I was in Pensacola and watched them practice last week. One of the folks in the crowd had a radio programmed to the same Freq the Blue Angels used. We got to hear the radio traffic throughout the show.

It was pretty funny. You would think the radio transmissions would be incredibly brief and crisp. They weren't. It was a military radio version of Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

The Freq's are published and a 10 dollar radio from amazon can pick them up. Well worth it.
They really enjoy their jobs.

I will NEVER watch another airshow without a scanner. Went and watched their practice at HSV a few years back...and had my amateur radio that's a wideband scanner...brings a whole new dimension to the show. HIGHLY recommend it.

When entering a High G maneuver you could hear the Lead, "Just a little pullllll" and of course if his mic was open sometimes you'd hear the high g grunt maneuver as he fought off the G-forces.

Dude:
I'd never come to the kid's show. I only go during practice and during the general admission. And I'm not going to Belle Chase for a airshow.

I know the feeling. When Dad was the Lake Charles USMC recruiter...I was in High School..but had to work the USMC booth with the guys in the DEP. We were busy..but the perks...they weren't too shabby.
