The Chennault Air Show is April 28th-30th and will feature the Thunderbirds who in my opinion put on a better show that the Blue Angels. Costs to attend but kids under 12 are free.

Barksdale Airshow is May 6th and 7th and will have the Blue Angles and a freaking B2.

And there will be a B52 and a F35 at the Bell Chase air show.

Pretty cool if you ask me. I've already seen the B2 doing flyover at Belle Chase. Very mehh.

no, it's for schools. military & dependents and retirees have base access anyway so they can come whatever day they want.

this Friday is for schools who contacted the Liaison officer for a pass.

Friday’s show is open only to students and other invited guests of the air station. The general public will attend April 22-23. Gates will open at 8 a.m. on air show days and parking and admission are free. In addition to the Blue Angels, numerous flight demonstration aircraft, parachute teams and a jet-powered truck are scheduled to perform. As in years past there will be static display aircraft and other military hardware on the flight line to view, along with special areas for younger attendees. Concession and vendor booths will be operational on Friday as well. If your school wants to attend, call the NAS JRB New Orleans School Liaison Officer at 504 281-8945 or e-mail NORL-NewOrleansSLO@navy.mil.

I had a neighbor who grew up to be a blue angels pilot a couple years back... but it doesn't change my opinion of it being a wasteful pile o' military propaganda that inspires the kim jong's of the world.

Will the F35 perform? I do not see it listed as a performer, just static. I would drive from Lafayette just to see the F35.

I was there too, and that F22 had the ground shaking. Talk about loud. It was closer to the audience then the Barksdale demo last year.

Heritage flights are my favorite. Love the song by Dwayne O'Brien We Remember they play for all of them.

Second favorite is watching FA18's doing High Angle of Attack demos 50' off the flight deck.

shite, I didn't realize they were having a B-52, Hornet, and Eagle on display. Was thinking just F-35 and the Cobra.

And I believe they open up some of the cargo planes to walk through but that's all if memory serves.

I'd be more inclined to go if they would release the flight schedule. Would like to see Blue Angels and Mustang just don't want to be out there all day long.

I watched them practice at NASP yesterday. They have a few new formation maneuvers added to the show this year.
