I think it's has to do with being incredibly rich. When you're rich, you have no worries. You can focus on the vices/pleasures of life. As was stated, every day Hefner had sex with beautiful women. Sounds awesome, but it could eventually be boring and he needed another outlet. So he tried sex with men too.

The most homophobic dude I know has absolutely no balls whatsoever to stand up to his wife. But he's always "**** this, queer that". Last time I went out to dinner with him, 2 dudes on a date were near us. "Look at those 2 faggots, OMG. Sickening". He went on and on about it. Finally, I couldn't stand it anymore. I enthusiastically said "well those 2 dudes look very much in shape, flat stomach, muscles while you're sitting here with a huge beer gut. And your wife completely wears the pants in your household. She de-emasculates you constantly and you just sit there and take it like a sissy. Everybody notices it and talks about it"
Needless to say, he doesn't talk to me much anymore.

I really hope the details of whatever happened with Justin and all the other minors never get released to the public for their own sake. Look we know Justin was involved already as a victim, I think we can leave it at that. There is no need to make him relive this all again. There are PLENTY of other victim coming forward willing to tell what happened.
