Mexico's long and storied history in military engagements has me betting on...the Taliban.

The Taliban is not afraid of death...

Taliban
By far
Are they fighting in Afghanistan or Sinaloa???
I think if it's in Sinaloa the cartels would be able to hold out at least a little bit. In Afghanistan it would be a bloodbath.

Depends on which side Rambo is on.

Idk who is more ruthless but I would be pulling for the Cartel pretty hard. Those idiots in the middle east have been fighting with each other as long as history has been written.

Taliban wins by hiding in Pakistan or in the mountains. In the "thunderdome", cartel wins. Cartel is well funded, well armed, ruthless, and have mastered the art of intimidation. The British, Russian, and American military endeavors in Afghanistan were constrained due to international relations....the cartel would be able to take a no holds barred approach, committing gruesome war crimes and no fear of annihilating non-combatant populations.
It'd be a quick win and true bloodbath.

tCartel couldn't even protect Pablo Escobar from a few rogue DEA agents. Meanwhile, the Taliban has overtaken a damn country.
In terms of misery inflicted on the US, the Cartels probably win that one--thanks in large part to our "war on drugs."
September 11 was horrific, and we have endured some draconian civil liberty impingement since, but I'd give the edge to those Latin American bastards in terms of affecting our day-to-day life.
OTOH, Taliban has poppy fields themselves, so with oil money, military mindset, and plenty of drugs, I'm taking Habib to cover.

Cartel can afford to by an army. Probably ours since they have some free time on their hands now. So, cartel.

You realize that Escobar was Colombian, right? He did business with but was in no way, shape or form part of the Mexican cartel.

The Taliban runs drugs and guns, too, they’d probably become allies.
