Cartels don’t want to die. They just want to kill people. The taliban would sacrifice themselves to keep their ideology going. They would win.

The taliban vs one of the Mexican cartels? I will be honest, I don't know the numbers but I would think one cartel would not have enough people and the Taliban would be able to beat them simply by having a lot more people fighting for them.
But if we are taking all the Mexican cartels and combining resources to fight the Taliban, I think the cartels win and it wouldn't be close. Combined they would have a lot more resources, they would even be able to take away a lot of Taliban fighters just by hiring them. A lot of those people who fight for terrorist groups are paid and have no loyalty, they fight to whoever pays them the most.
