Must be a bunch of slackers competing in the Hawaii Ironman, the SEALS never finish in front of the professional competitors, even the women pros.

This thread is full of UFC fan boys.

They can’t be reasoned with.

I'm a fan of both. Prime is spot on. It's a matter of time spent training and competing. Physically, they are pretty even. Mentally, the Seals are stronger. Experience in unarmed combat is lopsided in favor of the MMA pro.

Not all pros are created equal, though. I know a "pro" that had 1 amateur fight and two pro fights. He was extremely low level, yet technically a pro.

This is true. But since we're talking about the military's most elite, I'd assume we are also talking about some of the better pro fighters out there.

Anybody can fight for money in some random fly by night promotion on the undercard and technically be a "professional".

There's no question that the MMA fighter would win I would also say that a professional boxer would win, and a collegiate wrestler would win.

A professional boxer can create distance so well that an untrained opponent, even if it's a Navy seal would have a hard time closing the distance. Even a Boxer with no training grappling knows how to push someone away.

And a collegiate wrestler would close the distance like a lion attacking a gazelle and suffocate its prey. A Wrestler uses every inch of his body for pressure, especially the head, grinding into the side of the face of the downed opponent.

A seal couldn't beat me at my job just 'because they wanted to'. That's a joke.

Why do some of you put navy seals on this god-like pedestal?

It has to be movies. Some of these guys act like SEALs are literal gods walking among us.

I'd go with MMA fighters. SEALS also spend a massive amount of training on swimming, weaponry, stealth, survival, languages, and other stuff. MMA fighters just drink energy drinks and train.

One is trained to fight at peak time for a couple of minutes at a time. While the other is trained to fight anytime, anywhere and for as long as it takes. Not for points but rather for their life. Who here is stupid enough to pick speedo dude? Rhetorical.
