Passed by some members of culcha on Canal the other day giving a speech about the white devil. One of them had a “we were kings” shirt on. It got me to thinking.....who are the true Kangz? Thanks. Anybody know? Thanks.

The blood of Kings is the blood of conquerors. Temujin rose up from nothing to become Ghengis Khan. The Kings of yore, those who truly secured their title, stood atop a mountain of blood and bone. If they liked blood and bone high enough, their progeny might stand atop it as well for a time.

But many sons falter, and sons of sons even more so. A pedigree will only take weak rulers so far, else their blood and bone be added to the pile with a new line of blood perched at the apex.

The far reaching blood of erstwhile Kings may well run in the veins of some, bastard and true.

What makes a true king is not blood in the veins but blood on the sword. Some intangible aspect that makes men either swear fealty, bend the knee, or fall beneath King’s Steel.

The various Persian, Anatolian, and Near Eastern royals (think Syrian, Palestinian, Egyptian, etc.) were true kings, as were their aristocracies. The history of the West would be nothing without the people in those parts of the world.

If you want to know an underappreciated people in Western culture, there they be.

Kings and Kings of Kings, in their own right. But that doesn’t negate the Kings of other regions.

Look at the etymology of the word.
quote:

king (n.) a late Old English contraction of cyning "king, ruler" (also used as a title), from Proto-Germanic *kuningaz (source also of Dutch koning, Old Norse konungr, Danish konge, Old Saxon and Old High German kuning, Middle High German künic, German König).
This is of uncertain origin. It is possibly related to Old English cynn "family, race" (see kin), making a king originally a "leader of the people." Or perhaps it is from a related prehistoric Germanic word meaning "noble birth," making a king etymologically "one who descended from noble birth." The sociological and ideological implications render this a topic of much debate. "The exact notional relation of king with kin is undetermined, but the etymological relation is hardly to be doubted" [Century Dictionary].

Not to mention the Rajahs of India. The Huangdi of China. The Khans. The Shinno of Japan. Czars. Caesars.

Men have been ruled since the beginning.

In the 80's, it was Kool Moe Dee and Big Daddy Kane. LL, at that time, was just a lady's love.
