Who REALLY runs the country/the world?

Oil tycoons? Bankers?
I feel like elected officials are nothing more than talking puppets bought and paid for by some other entities.
I also get the feeling that America is being more and more directly controlled by out of country influences like the Middle eastern oil dudes.
If you had to guess, who are the real brains/power behind everything?

Considering the current condition of the country & world, I'd say no one is running it. It's like when the parents aren't at home but the kids are.......shite goes downhill fast.
