I’m curious how many sacks are being wasted right now due to high prices. Can’t be they are moving em fast enough to keep them alive.

Hey genius, the high price is from lack of catch. They don't have extra sacks laying around. When they do, prices drop

How don’t they jive? I stated that there’s less than 1/3rd of the volume in the market but also that all the boiling houses are selling out every night. Which doesn’t jive for you?

Nevermind I'm happy boilers are selling out their 180 pounds per weekend
which proves the consumer market is on fire. GL, Baw.

It’s funny I dont remember seeing any of these “who needs crawfish, shrimp are better” people when crawfish were cheap.

I guess that your posts don't jive from time to time when trying to paint a rosy picture. Don't get upset.

He hasn't really been trying to paint a rosy picture. It can be true that it has been both a slow season and that boilers/restaurants are selling out what crawfish they get. It really isn't that difficult a concept to grasp. Some people are going to continue to pay current prices because that is what they want, and they don't mind paying for it.

It proves that volume is at an all time low for this time of the year, which is why boiling houses are lucky to get more than 4-5 sacks to boil a night.

Houses

Groceries
Crawfish

One of those does not belong... Houses, cars and groceries are all essential things that are not going to be replaced. Crawfish is a luxury, people don't need crawfish. And if crawfisherman want to make any money, they will eventually have to sell them bugs at a reasonable price, or find something else to make them money.

Damn white river crawfish in there. I guess it's better than no crawfish.

Here's the hack. Gonto a place that boils the vegetables with the crawfish. Get a couple orders of potatoes, with the dip. Throw in an onion as well, and for about $5, you'll feel like you ate plenty
If needed, one lb of shrinp

You just saved 50

Crawfish hasnt been cheap since 2003. Back then 75 cents a lb at Sylvester's in Opelousas. I used to drive down there every spring and pick up 300-500 lbs.

I say it all of the time. 5lbs of shrimp with the fixings can feed three folks. Easy
Why is it that one can fill up on much less shrimp than crawfish?

Shrimp is far and away a better deal and just as tasty and versatile.

Never understood the crawfish fascination for the reasons above. Always preferred shrimp.
