It was a tough choice but......

I gotta go with the 14th.... Death Guard Plague Marines. They are straight ballers.

1000 sons was a close second. Big Ahzek Ahriman fan.

For loyalist legions gotta go with Grey Knights. They are beasts

Blood Angels baw. I am somewhat partial to the Ultramarines though.

Chaos can suck a dick (except the Emperors Children would enjoy that)

I thought 40k was totally for geeks until I read some of the Horus Heresy saga

Then I realized I was the geek

I play Smurfs (Ultramarines) and Tau. My sons play Ultramarines, Necrons, and Chaos.

Once upon a time I had Black Templars, Dark Angels, and 3000 pts of Cadian Imperial Guard painted in “ambush” camo.

I’d like to do Biel Tan Eldar someday.

Last couple of converted marines I’ve painted:

That’s some beautiful work. I’ve got a Cadian army in progress. Here’s my fully magnetized armored sentinel (needs basing).

Been thinking about getting into this, looks expensive but I dig D&D minis and they're not too bad. Where would one begin?

My first question would be what do you know about the setting? I started out reading the wiki to get acquainted. I have an affinity for the imperium so I started reading the Gaunt’s Ghosts and Cadia Stands books. Then I picked out a few models to start painting.

Im just now getting into playing the game. The lore and painting have been more of interest to me.

I'm more of a D&D guy, so I imagine its a futuristic space Marines battle based game with bad arse collectible and paintable miniatures and terrain. I'm not sure how it works or if there's any role playing or if its mainly dice rolling battle mechanics. I also know people get heavily into the lore, but I don't know any of it.

Also I have a healthy D&D miniatures collection, I 3-D print a lot of it but also buy and paint.

Grey Knights all the way. Spent six weeks painting up 16 Paladins and now I'm working on kit bashing a custom Grand Master in Nemesis Dread Knight.

Did take a weekend off to start on my smurfs.
