My great grandmother lived to be 99. She was active until a stroke rendered her wheelchair bound at age 97.
She lived to see her son (my paw paw's) 80th birthday. That always seems just insane to me.
She was a cool lady and tough as nails and I'm glad I got to know her for as long as I did.

Never met her personally, but one of the older ladies in our church choir just lost her mom two weeks ago... at the ripe old age of 106!!
I don't know what percentage of humanity has that lifespan, but I gotta believe the answer follows the format 0.0000xx%

Wife's grandfather died at 102.
It didn't really hit me how much life he'd seen until in his final years he'd talk about his son who died in the Korean War.
My wife and I were dating then, and he couldn't hear well. Every time I would mention going to Auburn he'd hear "Harvard" and I eventually stopped correcting him. Guy died thinking his granddaughter had found a Harvard man. Oh well.

My grandma lived to 102. Crazy how many things she saw. I remember when Obama got elected, she said,” I’ve lived too long.”

Met my 3rd great uncle in the 80s, he was 97 at the time, survived the hurricane of 1893 that wiped out Cheniere Caminada near Grand Isle, he was living there when he was 5, family rode out the storm in the attic of a 2 story house surrounded by oaks, water came all the way up to the attic entrance, only house left standing in the community, town was never rebuilt. He died right before he turned 100 I believe. Took a picture with him, but couldn’t talk to him because he didn’t speak a word of English and my French wasn’t good enough to converse. Was still really cool.

About 8 years ago while working in a New Orleans ER, went into a patient's room to get him for an exam. He was 109 years old on paper. Started talking to him, confirmed his date of birth like we were always supposed to do and he got mad. DOB was wrong. He told me he was actually 113 years old and his age was recording incorrectly when younger. Apparently he had to always right that and he didn't like it. His family in the room all vouched for him. He was an old share cropper from Napoleonville.

One of my grandmother's sisters was 102 when she passed..
My maternal grandmother was 100 1/2 when she passed. She lived in her own house until she was 99. She was not happy to go into the home when she couldn't take care of herself.

I don't think I knew anyone who lived to be 100. I am sure there is someone I knew off, but my great grandmother died at 97, she is probably the oldest I knew personally.

I got to meet Frank Buckles (last surviving WWI veteran) when I was in JH in 2004...That would put him at 103 at the time. Really neat experience

Great aunt, nearly 103. Wheelchair bound for at least 50 of those years. Sharp as a tack, had 14 children of her own and could name every grand, great, and great-great grandchild she had, easily over 120 people.
We have a frequent poster here in a wheelchair.
Therefore
