The best frickin teacher I ever had.
Had him for the Fall semester 2003. Liked the Stadium Seating in the Cox building
He was a favorite back then, he must be a legend now

Peter Chen (Computer Science) if he's still there.

The one who discovered gravity waves.

Is JHop still there? If so, him....man...

Gonzalez is the obvious answer for "prestige," and with good reason. Gravitational waves were global news and reset a lot of academic inquiry. She literally helped push human knowledge further than previously known:the truest form of academic pursuit.
That said, LSU is an R1 university, where the expectation for professors is that same thing:to push the boundaries of human knowledge. Theres a whole lot more going on there than what is prestigious, or even newsworthy.

T Harry Williams is the correct answer with Robert Penn Warren worth a mention.

This is the answer.
Mann will never recover from from the blunt force head trauma caused by Joe Burrow’s massive dick.

Literally needed his class to graduate one summer and damned if I didn't have to drop it bc I literally couldn't understand wth he was saying. Super frustrating to say the least

How is someone who has been dead for 50 years “THE” correct answer to who is LSU’s most prestigious current professor?

who cares? The question wasn't "who was your favorite professor at LSU?", even though most of yall apparently read it that way.
My favorite professor at LSU wouldn't ever be in the global news cycle. Thats not a critique.
