My first concert was Van Halen, 1984 tour. The ticket costs me $12.

I see a lot of people asking to buy TS tickets on FB. So I decided to see what they are going for on Stubhub. The cheapest single ticket, in the nose bleed section is $1900+. I saw 4 tickets together on floor, 17th row, they asking over $9000 a ticket.

Are people this stupid (I already know the answer to this)?

I know someone who flew to the Netherlands to watch her because it was cheaper.

If the tickets cost that much, it isn't worth attending.

Yeah these prices are stupid. But so is paying $65,000 for a truck, or $500K for a starter home, or $8,000 for a week at the beach.......

Granted, I know this is just what people are asking, and they will come down days before the concert, but this is just crazy.
What is the face value of these tickets?

I don’t mind splurging on once in a lifetime activities for my children, like when the World Cup is coming to the US, but I think a music concert does not qualify for that

On the flipside, my SIL was able to get nice seats for face value through the ticketing lottery (or whatever it is), and can now get almost 10x what she paid for them, and doesn't want to do that (and she is not even some big Taylor Swift fan or anything, and is not rich)

I detoured from London to Switzerland during my trip:
Flights from London to Switzerland
A pair of concert tickets
My hotel stay
Food & drinks
Transportation around Zurich
Travel to Interlaken and back

Combined for less than a single resale ticket...

From some of the videos I've seen of her concerts, a good chunk of the time you'll hear the people around you singing and not TS but those were from nosebleed seats.

Not me.
Wife and I only paid $85 each to see Celine Dion in Las Vegas and she was much better than TS.

Your money has added up. Those people might pay that price one time.

Don't worry about how other people pursue enjoyment.

Face value isn't that bad. Last April I took my daughter to Houston and we paid around $150ish (I can't recall the exact amount) which was about what my wife and I paid to see Bruce Springsteen in Houston. I had 4 tickets but my wife and son were unable to attend so I sold the other 2 Taylor tickets and it paid for my tickets and the trip.

And fwiw she put on a helluva show and played for 3+ hours. Iirc Springsteen played 2:45 and she played like 3:15.

Miss twjr is begging for tickets. Maybe if they come down the day of the concert I’ll buy them, but they’d have to be sub $1000
