I have mine set to 58 at night and it might cut on twice, at like 5:00 am. You’re talking about sleeping like a baby when your house is 60.

I put mine on about 62 all winter. I love it. My kid wears a sweat suit all winter because she's cold. Running the heater too much makes the house stuffy.

Yep. If my way fe turns it on, I'll crack windows. I prefer a cool house.

I do like a wood fire though.

Woke up and it was 57 in my house.

Cut my unit off in mid October and the only time it’s clicked on is when my maids turned the heat on while I was at work

Came inside and turned it off

We do use our fireplace some. I'll open the windows during the day but we live in the city so I shut them at night. I prefer a house in the 60s when I'm sleeping.

That would be ok with me but the wife and kid might stage a mutiny at 51.

You people have electric heat?

Sounds foreign to me. I’ve only ever had gas heat.

Gas and electric bill are combined here. Not sure what type of heat matters with my question though.

Gas fireplace in master bedroom and living room.

15-20 minutes of runtime 2 x's a day (when temps go below 55°) is all we need.

Exception if it's below freezing all night

LOL. I recently moved from Baton Rouge area to upstate South Carolina but I come back for LSU games and my daughter lives there. Has there even been frost there yet, much less a freeze? I was there for Auburn game and it was cool but not cold. Daughter is a cold natures prism but she has yet to use her heater.

Some people act like Louisiana is the tropics or something. Everywhere north of Miami/Naples gets cold as shite often enough in winter.

ETA: below 50 = cold as shite.

My A/C was running two days ago during the cool snap. Runs year round.

When sleeping the house needs to be cold.

It's not uncommon for me in the Spring to run the heater during the day and the air conditioner at night. I live in the richest, most technically advanced civilization in the history of the world; I'm not fighting the elements in my own home.

Who still hasn't turned on their heater yet?

It's gonna be 19 tonight. Looks like it's a two pairs of socks kind of night.

I can't sleep in socks, pants, shirt etc. I'll put my heater on about 62 and sleep with my fan on high in boxers.

Were you the kid in elementary school that never wore a sweatshirt and always claimed to not be cold when it was freezing?

In Lafayette and still have not turned on my heater though I probably will when I get up in the morning.

Wife did cooked a huge pot of corn/vegetable soup and several large cabbage casseroles today so it is currently a warm and toasty 63 right now in the house.

I am on the verge of sweating eating a bowl of soup.
