‘04 senator from Amite checking in. Got called back to be a counselor the next year. I really enjoyed both experiences.

Got called back a second year to be a counselor but had to decline. Worked out well cause that was the switch to NSU which I heard was pretty bad

Solely based on reading replies, I surmise this as grooming future leaders of local politics in Louisiana.

55% chance anyone who participated in this was also touched by their local priest.

Also checking in. Had a decent enough time, but it wasn’t the “experience of a lifetime” like some cracked it up to be. I did very little on whatever city board I was on.

06 here was well. Bandana boyz for life! Went back two years as a counselor and it was fun. I have never been so sleep deprived in my life. Almost drove off the road on my way home. Also, random, found out Michael Jackson died on the trip up there one year to be a counselor.

The dance had to be one of the most cringiest things in my life.

I wanted to go, but the competition to go at my school was pretty steep (over 200 boys in our class including 2 National Merit Finalists). Did only 2 or 3 from each school get invited? I can’t remember.

I did get selected to go to the National Young Leadership Conference in D.C. the summer between SO and JR years. Just 3 of us went to that—me and the 2 National Merit nerds. Any of y’all go to that? Running around hot arse D.C. in July for 10 days with our Structure suits soaked in sweat. Good times.

I was there in the late 80's. If you had ordered me to sleep I would have welcomed it. It seemed the only hard and fast rule there was NO SLEEPING allowed....ever.

Sherriff. It prepared me for the frickery of real politics in that it is all about game theory, lies, and popularity

Summer of 03 Commissioner of Elections and Mayor of one of the cities in Tchefuncte checking in. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but caught relentless shite from my coaches when I came back to football practice. Took a picture in Mike Fosters chair behind his desk at the state capitol. Was a good time.

Summer 91

Franklin City.

Some dude stomped on a cockroach and we put him on trial for the rape and murder of Mr Cock Roach.

We kept referring to him as Mr. Cock

I was the defender and said Mr Cock gave consent by silence. He never said no so consent was implied.

Prosecutor argue that Mr. Cock can't talk.

I argued that was not the defendant's problem.

We did this in a courtroom in the State Capital in front of a large mix of laughing and horrified parents.

Not sure why they never invited me back
