He probably thinks "real money" means 7-8 figs, which then validates his assumption.

What he fails to realize is that real money doesn't start until 9 figs.

I am in no way saying I have this, but a close friend does, and we speculate 10, and it is absolutely never talked about.

This is what I meant, of course nobody ever says how much they have, that's for people to speculate.

I'm guessing next your going to say people with real money drive old cars and don't have a big houses bc they don't need to show it.

Agreed.. 7 figs isn't what it used to be..

8 though is pretty serious cash

my neighbors certainly do not live in a massive house or drive luxury cars and like I said, have enough family money still that their grandchildren will not have to work...

No it's not "old money mentality" you've obviously never been up the east coast and seen all the shite from the early 1900's . Just because somebody is thrifty doesn't mean the are old money
