Raised Catholic here

Still have faith, but disagree with much of the church’s teachings. Especially the whole no sex before marriage and not living together thing.

I agree. But the Catholic Church isn’t the only place with child molesters. My dad (the convert) had stories about the Baptist camp he went to in the 50s.

The thing that is most frustrating about Protestant converts to Catholicism is that most never experienced historic, confessional, Protestantism.

They skipped it for the mostly empty lure of Rome.

Converted in 1999 with my wife. Still practicing, it’s really hard to be a good Catholic. We converted in a place with a strong bishop and a ton of like-minded young families (Arlington Diocese-NOVA).

I converted away from Catholicism when I became an adult and stopped believing in fairy tales.

Does that count?

Religion - What you must do to work your way to God.
Earn it

Christianity - God worked his way to you in love, mercy, and Grace through Jesus the Christ.
Receive it

Impossible in fact. That’s why Luther got excommunicated. He dared to question what was quite obvious—Salvation based on merit is unattainable unless our merit is actually that of Christ’s alone.
