Their version of Cane's is not where you want to go for a meal.

Work in the offshore business do you?

It's a fantastic place - best country in the world outside of the ol' USA. My mom is from there, my brother was born there and I travel there (and to Indonesia) for work myself.

Safe travels and don't pick up a tranny

Great food including really cheap eats at the hawker centers. Have to try the staples, chicken rice and chili crab. Weather is incredibly hot and humid. Paying to go up to the pool on top of the Marina Bay Sands hotel is worth it.

the most trustworthy place on earth. you can literally leave your wallet on top of your car and go to bed. that fricker will be there in the morning untouched. they have a barbaric system of punishment that apparently works to perfection.

you'll love it.

Is quite civilized. Their money value is the same as USD (1:1). You can find variety of food choices from western to Greek. I think you'll adjust to the area easily with just the issue of jet-lag. Enjoy and explore some local food while you're there.

its really expensive for asia. You will pay a lot to get drunk, or at least compared to Thailand or the phillipines. Not a very vibrant nightlife for the size of city it is. There is stuff to do, but not as much as you would expect. My friends that live there say "shopping is what you do on Friday night"

I just got back from sumatra, which is really close to singapore. Apparently all the indonesias hate singapore.

It's like a clean NY city less all the aholes. I never wanted to visit the far east so I went there already dreading it but I enjoyed it a lot. Be prepared to get raped if you plan on drinking alcohol. A couple of Tiger beers will just about break you because of their high alcohol taxes. The hawker centers are great also. Some really cheap good food. Had some stingray barbequed with chili sauce. It was amazing. Oh and watch out for the Jenners. There are everywhere. Lastly, enjoy the cab rides....

I was there for a week during my active duty days. That place is really mellow and laid back. The weather, food and entertainment is awesome. Singaporeans are beautiful people.

Never been there myself but I have quite of few patients that have lived there for a few years (I think it is part of the promotion track at Exxon) that all rave about how awesome Singapore is.
