My wife goes to see Jolibois off of Sherwood Forest and swears by it.

why do you never see women chiros?

I went to one in Auburn for mid back pain. He asked me questions, took an X-ray, and straight up told me I needed to go back to my gastroenterologist, that it was esophagus reflux related. He said to find a different one if he couldn't help.
He printed me out stretches to do until gastro appointment, diet restrictions, then sent me on my way.
I suppose it depends on which one you go to. There are benefits there IMO.

Nah, it only comes from people with a brain.
Carry on.

They aren't strong enough.

There is not a medical doctor in the world that will recommend chiropractic care. Should be all you need to know.
False. My OB recommended it for me and has been on board with everything he's done to help w/ my pregnancy. My hips, knees and lower back would be in horrible shape without him for the past nine months.
As others said, you definitely need to find a good one. Just like any profession there are good ones and bad ones. Mine is also certified in ART like someone mentioned and it's great. Find one of those.

Save your money and go see a PT since they are actually interested in not seeing you return to them after the treatment is complete.

Not buying it, not in the least. What is OB's name?
Posted on 11/5/15 at 2:39 pm to Queen
Yeah, it's funny some view them as offering nothing to an individual. A lot of them have physical therapists on staff that concentrate on stretching muscles and teach you correct posture and walking motions. One that offers nothing but "adjustments", sure, they're probably not going to help.
Also, people act as if MDs are good the majority of the time. They aren't. Their solution is pushing a drug for you to take. They usually have so many patients they don't care to bother themselves with root causes to problems. "Oh, your back hurts, here's some opiates", "Oh, you can't concentrate and are tired, here's some Adderall", "Oh, you have reflux, here's some PPIs"..

It doesn't matter to me if you buy it or not, but don't crap on an entire industry because there are some dishonest or bad people in it.
Someone said physical therapists, but I went to one years ago associated with a big hospital system whose own receptionist told me if I could walk that I should not come back to that place. I'm not crapping on all PTs because that one sucked.
Bottom line, there are some shitty chiropractors. There are some shitty restaurants, physicians, barbers, nursing homes, you name it. If OP has any common sense he'll be able to tell whether whoever he's seeing is worth his time or money. Don't go back if the guy sucks.

I always thought of the two like this:
Chiro - short term fix
PT - long term fix
Chiro - short term fix
PT - long term fix

Or you can see a real doctor. Just a suggestion.

There may be the occasional good chiropractor, but the field seems overrun with scam artists.
I would imagine 80% of the people hold that opinion.

One of the local hospitals has a chiropracter on staff. I don't know what he does for them, but he's there.

I've had great experiences.
Just have to research, like anything else.
