Self snitching that you are fat.

This place has become the miserable old man board. Bunch of 50 year olds circle jerking that they’d rather just sit at home 247.

I have never paid even $200 for a dinner. Not for 2 people.

I’m lucky in that my wife is a tightwad.Been married a long time(43 years) and we never went out more than3-4 times a year,As we’ve gotten older it’s very rare to go out to eat unless we’re on vacation or otherwise out of town.
We never get appetizers, drinks or dessert.
Wife is a very good cook so that helps.

I never go to seafood restaurants, because the food is always a step down from what’s at home. I eat fresh seafood all the time and in almost every variety.

Guess you’ll never be eating at the Supper Club.

I 100% agree. Very seldom do I eat at a restaurant and think it was worth the money especially steaks, seafood, and Italian food. I also enjoy cooking so for me sitting around the house drinking a few beers or sipping on some bourbon and cooking is way more enjoyable than going out to eat.
To each his own I guess.

Can you make blackened salmon at home?

We meal prep breakfast and lunch for the week and almost always cook dinner so by Friday we'll "treat" ourselves. Went to a run of the mill Mexican restaurant across the street last week. Just her and I with a 4 year old. 3 entrees w/ cheese dip, no alcohol, pushing $50 w/ tip.
Even a visit to Chick-fil-a on a Tball night will run over $30. Can't see how some people do it all the time.

I can definitely make a better steak than Outback type places, but Ruth's is still better than mine.

i dont care about costs. I just hate to have to figure out a tip at the end and then the bastards "pre calculate" that shite with the tax. Nope I'm giving you tip based on the food/alcohol total prior to the tax. I just wish there was a way to get rid of tipping and yes that means more expensive plates but that might be a slap in the face that people need to realize this economy isn't all that great. you know a $60 meal is now $90+ and eating out is no longer feasible for most.

It's the wait for me. When the wife picks a place, she never does her homework(make a reservation/look at the menu). So when we get there she is surprised at the long wait. And then can't decide what she wants. All she knows is someone at work said it was good. For example we went to some place called the Rustic. Long arse wait time because she didn't know they took reservations. And the food, atmosphere sucked.
Your wife is a "foodie" and doesn't make reservations or pick a place/time where you can snag seats at the bar?
We haven't waited in a lobby/outside in years. We either get there before 6pm (which I prefer anyway), sit at the bar to eat, make a reservation in advance, or any combination of those.

Yeah, that seems odd.

Same here.

Personally I just can’t help but get irked internally every time after we go to one of these places and the dinner is over and see the bill for $250-$300 for 2 people. To me it’s not just about the money necessarily, but how the money is being spent. I mean you almost can’t go anywhere these days above a half decent place if you order ann app(1) a 2-3 drinks(total), dinner(2) and a desert(1) for less than the above mentioned.
I eat out a lot. And I mean a lot.
Unless you live in Manhattan, $150/head is very, very expensive for what you described.

Alcohol at a restaurant is a complete waste of money, even soft drinks.
