Do you work in the plants? This shite never ends if you do. It usually happens around the Holidays every year. I've got 30 years of Christmas layoffs under my belt. You might want to get into a different field.

I've been laid off twice (oil & gas). Both times I came out ahead on the other side. This very well could be a blessing in disguise. Enjoy the funemployment time off, but hit the job search hard as well. It's a good time to do the things you always said you wish you could get to if you had more time.

I was laid off about a month ago from a plant contractor. I almost got fired. Their policy is that every worker has "stop work authority," if they see something unsafe. I saw something that appeared unsafe and I stopped work. They told me to get back to work or your fired.
