I knew a guy that had a great start to his career. Typical first year hiccup or two, but ended up with a really solid performance. Next few years he really hit his stride, out performing his counterparts and jumping up the ladder. He even won the most prestigious award the organization gives out every year to the top performer in the entire country. Then the guy that he replaced was thrust back into the picture and he really fell off a cliff...

Expose him how? Rake him over the coals how? Destroyed him personally how? What do you mean he wasn't half the man he once was? Didn't you say he was drunk at the Grove when you saw him? People tend to look a lot shittier when they are drunk. This story sounds extremely exaggerated or you just left out every detail of importance.

How was he able to pass off that he was wealthy? That's not exactly easy to do. You wrote "from a good family with a trust fund," good family wouldn't be hard to pass off with you infer wealth. It doesn't sound like he was some huge poser if he was a Phd from Ole Piss, although I guess anything can happen.
Eta: sounds weird bc you'd think that the kind of people that would get that worked up over that would also be the kind to look at background, social/country club status, car, residence, reputation, etc. to check someone's status. I guess it's kinda easy to fake some of that in college if you try hard enough. I knew a few guys like that.

Dude I know went to LSU, made pretty good grades.
Then he transferred to Ole Miss.
Worst case I have ever heard of.

you make it sound like getting a rich girl pregnant is some great achievement.
Then you say he was not who he was...that means he was a douchebag or a cheater or a screw up already...how does that mean he fell?
I mean I guess he had a phD so that is a nice achievement. What was his field? Did he have an awesome job to go with the PhD or was it some doctorate in puppetry?

I'm one of the few kids from my neighborhood who is still living. Two committed suicide, two OD'd, one fell into a creek and drowned while drunk. One girl attempted to shoot herself, but the gun was crooked and she blew off the side of her face instead -- now she's disfigured. Another one is currently in prison on drug charges and car theft.
