Oh, the humanity.
Article about Posner's plagiarism
Veteran journalist Gerald Posner acknowledged today that he copied five sentences from a Miami Herald article this week for a piece he wrote for the Daily Beast. The Daily Beast appended an editor's note to the beginning of Posner's piece today, explaining that the copying was "inadvertent" and that the Daily Beast has deleted the copied passages.
Here are the relevant sentences from the Feb. 2 Miami Herald story by Julie Brown, which was about a local murder and estate battle:
One incident that adds up to nothing. Keep trying though, it's fun.

You really believe Oswald acted alone? And I don't mean single shooter. You really think he acted alone solely on his own behalf?

Accidental shooting by the secret service car that was following him.

I believe LHO was the only and lone shooter 115%...
What we will never know is what help he may or may not have had.

The problem with sole assassin is that it's convenient and possible, but much more unlikely when you add up all that would have to go right for LHO to act alone.
The real theory is sole assassin. In fact, the majority of Americans believe there was more than one individual involved - definition of conspiracy. The only ones touting sole assassin are government (conflict of interest) and agenda investigators that set out to prove sole assassin was possible - conclusion then evidence vs. evidence leading to conclusion.
That's what you have guys in here saying that single-bullet theory was proven true rather than proven possible. They can't distinguish the difference between the two, God help them.

I think most people think he was the lone shooter. They just also think either the government or the mafia was involved. Bottom line it sounds like you also think there is a conspiracy surrounding Oswald

What I do believe is that he was the lone shooter. What I'm not sure of is if he had any help up to the point of pulling the trigger.

James Files with a Remington Fireball from behind the fence on the grassy knoll

A) Lee’s "emergency discharge" from the Marines was allegedly so he could care for his sick mother. Shortly thereafter, he defected to Russia, which was a large enough event to be published by the New York Times.
B.) When Lee defected (at the height of the Cold War), he brazenly told the State Department that he would turn over radar secrets to the Soviets. When he came back with his Russian wife, he was inexplicably not prosecuted for his actions...notwithstanding the State Department's footing the bill for their trip back to the United States.
B) George de Mohrenschildt, who Jackie Kennedy had called "Uncle George" (according to an investigation conducted by author Russ Baker based on information in the Warren Commission report), a well-to-do man with intelligence contacts, who was an anti-communist Russian immigrant and a political right-winger, came to be Lee's only friend in Dallas. His friendship with Lee was substantial enough that he arranged jobs for him, even though Lee was poor, uneducated, and an outspoken Marxist-Leninist, which made Lee the polar opposite of de Mohrenschildt on societal, economic, and political levels. To be aware of these facts and then shrug them off as though they do not matter relative to conclusions we must draw about how and why Lee did these things suggests a degree of cognitive dissonance.
C.) Marina Oswald is on record as saying that when she first met Lee she knew from his accent he wasn't a native Russian speaker from Russia but, because his Russian was so good, she initially assumed that he must have been born in Ukraine or Lithuania and learned Russian as a second language when he was a child. Officially, however, Lee was a 20-year-old 8th-grade dropout who enlisted at 17 and attended radar school after basic training before being sent to a radar base in Japan from which U2 spy planes flew classified reconnaissance missions over Russia.
There is some bewildering stuff in Lee’s background that conspiracy deniers want to skip over in order to get to the stuff that everyone now generally agrees upon; e.g. the feasibility of the shots, Lee’s accuracy, the condition of the rifle; etc. Thanks to modern technology, those facts aren’t really open for argument anymore. What about the guy who did it, though? The Marxist-Leninist who coincidentally rented a New Orleans office in the same building as a retired FBI agent reactionary named Guy Bannister; the broke Marxist-Leninist whose only friend in Dallas was (inexplicably) a wealthy anti-communist Russian immigrant with ties to American intelligence personnel; the middle-school dropout who, with no formal training, demonstrated remarkable Russian fluency; the defector who brazenly declared to the State Department that he was going to share classified radar secrets with the Soviets but, with his Russian wife in tow, was brought back home on the dime of his own country's taxpayers and never prosecuted?? What about that guy?!?

That is simply not true. Has been replicated ad nauseum w exact same results.
Ive been there several times, I'm sorry but that just isn't a hard shot to make. People NEED a conspiracy to try to make sense of things...but if you spend time there it seems more and more likely that it went down exactly the way it is presumed. THe warren commission was certainly a clusterfrick though, I'll give you tha.t

They wanted to make sure ZERO loose strings.
I do know, that the Mob was not very happy with Kennedy over the Monroe killing. the mob were very tight with joltin joe, and her death broke his heart.

I don't know who shot JFK, but I know who didn't, Lee Oswald.
Oswald and the U2 Program
quote:
According to his testimony before the Warren Commission, Oswald's former commanding officer Lieutenant John Donovan stated that Lee at the very least knew radio call signs, logistics and strengths for all squadrons; authentication codes to enter protected airspace; and the range for all radar stations...according to Donovan all of the radio call signs and authentication codes had to be changed after it was learned that Oswald defected.
