Saw Eddie Rispone's billboard that says "I bought this billboard so the the injury attorneys couldn't" and got me pondering who are some of the richest lawyers in Louisiana

If the richest lawyer in Louisiana is a gentile, I find that hard to believe.

It’s been rumored that Jim Roy in Lafayette - along with Russ Hermann - made something like $90 mil each - off the BP oil spill.

It was rumored that Jerry McKernan and some other tobacco lawyers sold their fee structure payouts for $1 mil per year for like 20 years.

I don’t know just rumors.

That is fricking criminal because it is that much the plaintiffs didn’t get.

The total tobacco settlement was $208 billion dollars. I don’t have any issue with Russ’s take because had he personally had $23 million in costs. His entire life savings was tied up.

If it wasn’t for he and Wendell no one would have made a penny.

Bart is rich no doubt but he is nowhere near the top of the richest. He makes his money on nickle and dime car accidents... a lot of them, yes...and personal injuries that the big boys' screeners won't even take calls on. He never goes to trial and all the legal work is done by his adjusters and paralegals. As "famous" as he is, there are good reasons he got nowhere near the big time lawsuits, the oil spill, tobacco suits, etc. He's just not that smart.

I think he had to share that with Bob and Jimmy and others.

And they’ve parlayed it into other litigation.
