Ever since someone pointed it out to me I can’t help but notice the shift in vocabulary. They now say equity and not equality. It’s a subtle shift from equal opportunity to equal outcome. This is a dangerous mindset.

It should be about achievements, not fairness, and the goal should be to get the best and brightest and educated them to the maximum of their abilities.

The conclusion of the report was headed here regardless. Since the profile gets whiter and wealthier, they frame it as increasing privilege.

If the profile got darker and poorer with test scores only, they would have framed college admission departments as racist.

Sounds like reparations are already in place.

Why are you putting words into my mouth?

Being able to work and learn with qualified applicants from various backgrounds is important.

And so, how is it possibly a bad thing to use actually testing ability to get into schools a bad thing?

I have never cared one single bit about who is selected for schools. The only thing i have cared about is when people are given spots into schools that don’t deserve it.

Whoever has the grades and the tests scores, let them in. The rest should never matter at all about acceptance into college

How simple minded. Unless your kid is the top 0.0005%, they will always be a “fringe student.” If they’re not a fringe student at LSU, they will be at Vanderbilt or UVA or Stanford or MIT or Yale or Harvard.

Exactly. Nearly everyone is a “fringe student” somewhere.
