What do you think the appropriate response to trespassers is?
Kindly ask them to leave?
Hide in fear while you hope the police show up in time?
In this case, should we just wait around and hope these kids don't drown and their parents don't hold us liable for that?
Clearly, there is a contingent among us who don't think physically removing them by force is the answer, so what is?
If someone is bold enough to trespass on my property, how am I supposed to know what else they might do? Clairvoyance?

Exactly, those two AA kids drowned in Livingston parish and they want the property owner to pay

Over the weekend, 9-year-old Chase and 6-year-old Cayden drowned. Many are blaming property owner for not alerting children and parents to the dangers of the retention pond in the middle of their neighborhood.

Right? How could we possibly ever know that we might drown in water?

You can't assault children. As shitty as the situation is, you can't hit a kid without some pretty crazy things happening beforehand or protecting yourself.

Calling the cops? Yelling at them to leave? Sure. Pulling a firearm and escalating a situation when it's not your house and there is zero deadly intent? No.

And when these things clearly haven't worked multiple times already? Are we just supposed to pretend that isn't the situation here?

Maybe she has thrown these kids out so many times she finally lost her patience. Maybe she is getting a bunch of pressure from renters to keep non-residents out of the pool. Maybe those same 2 kids cause trouble everytime they they sneak in. Maybe she has called the police numerous times and they either don't do shite about it, or don't even show up. I am not making an excuse for her behavior, but we all have our limits and maybe those little turds found hers that day.
Her behavior would never be an issue if those kids had not trespassed. So, I ask again, what would you do with the trespassers?

I mean I get it….but you can’t be dumb she got what she deserved.

Call the cops. If the cops don't show up, then let it go.

Not her problem if the cops won't do anything about it. If her government isn't enforcing private property rights, then she can tell the residents to complain to them or the property owner.
If the cops don't care why should she?

Whitey didn't let those poor little black kids swim in their pool.

So arbitrary enforcement of the law? Let the little black kids swim in your pool, or else.

She's not law enforcement.

I want her to call the cops and I want the cops to do their jobs and respond. If they don't, then yes, let them swim. She absolutely can't assault kids 9 and 11 unless they are a physical threat. That's a worse crime than trespassing.
This is all hypothetical anyway because there's no indication she tried to call the cops in the first place.

"Community policing."

Apartment might be liable for letting 9 and 11 year olds swim without an adult. They might also have trouble with their insurance company.

If breaking things or causing problems with other kids do you still let it go? If putting themselves or other kids in danger by ignoring safety rules do you still let it go? If poor swimmers do you just let it go? If a kid is being offensive or racist in the pool area in front of everyone do you just let it go?
Getting unaccompanied kids out of the pool is actually helping all involved. This lady went way beyond that, but the view to just let it go when a kid is breaking rules or for their own safety is pretty ridiculous. If parents cared that much the kids wouldn’t be where they were by themselves.

Never said this.
Again, if the cops won't do their jobs, she can't do it for them. That isn't her failure, and it's not her problem to fix.
