Probably Ohio. Good mix of rural small towners and educated white collar folks. Split pretty even politically, but still considered a blue collar state. Seems to be a really good cross section of America.

Ohio is too rusty. Iowa is pristine, untouched heartland.

Demographics of Ohio closely resemble the USA. It's America in a microcosm.

I'm reading the question as "most stereotypical American" in which case Ohio gets my vote but I won't argue with Iowa.

I am not from TX, but I gotta say, even if 1/2 of them are not American the other 1/2 more than make up for it.

that's not what i'm going for. i should have been more specific.

what i'm asking is which state's residents best live up to traditional american values and ideals, such as:

Patriotism
Self-reliance
Education
Hard work
Equality
Personal responsibility

IMO, Texas is too unique to be the most representative of America.

It's not Texas. Texas isn't even one of the top ten.

Texas is full of Mexican nationals, gangbangers, cartel violence, and welfare queens.

Can't be. They didn't even marry the US. They're a long term live in girlfriend that won't commit.

Florida.

Most of the people are on drugs
Most of the people are on Medicare/Medicaid or simply uninsured
High crime rates=high prison population
Spend way too much on youth sports
Lots of immigrants
In danger of the myth that is global warming
People in debt- Miami
People with money- Naples
People with no money- the rest of the state
Trashy southern girls
Trashy beaches

Yeah it doesn't represent thing currently, but I think of Virginia as the first real American state.

You would be surprised to know that Iowa is one of the smartest states in the nation.
