Normally, I'd throw Louisiana into this, but BR and NOLA both are looking to decriminalize so congrats home state, parts of you are doing something right.

I'm no legal expert, but isn't there something about the civil law that would make Louisiana naturally one of the last states to change?

Ole miss is the only university in America that can study pot.
They actually grow it at one of their labs.
I think y'all will be surprised at how quickly this movement spreads.
It'll be a domino effect, heading out for the east coast next.
I think a huge stepping stone will be which state south of the mason-Dixon will be the first. Maybe Texas or LA?
As for the last, OK or Missouri. Baptists ruling the place with iron clad chastity belts.

Alabama or Mississippi.
Homebrewing was legalized in 1978, but remained illegal in both states until 2013. Last to adopt.

Spot on

Most likely Alabama. I don't think most saying otherwise realize the extent to which puritans run that state.

Mississippi
They literally just abolished slavery

mississippi has already decriminalized it years ago.
Same for NOLA. It's pretty much legal here without the legal avenues to purchase.

Mississippi is actually on the progressive side of legalization. I'd say South Carolina, Alabama, or Utah.

Actually, the bureaucratic boards set up in CO made for many headaches in the licensing process.
There were many tiers of fees and taxes and assessments and all that shite, so there were/are many govt hands in the Doritos jar.
However, I think the majority of posters here are missing the big point in the legalization movement. The legislators didn't make pot legal. The citizens did with ballot initiatives. States where you can vote for/against laws of ballots will continue the trend. LA is set up like that. As is TX. As is AL.

This is probably right, and it will show how screwed up they are. You can marry a zygote (OK maybe not that young, but I think 14 is consent age) but you can't smoke pot with or around her.

TX does not have the initiative and thus citizens cannot propose amendments to the (oft-amended) Texas Constitution. Only the Legislature can.

This is what I'm basing my guess on. Both homebrewing and high ABV beers were illegal in MS and AL up until the past few years. After hearing the arguments that came out of the state legislatures, I would not be surprised to see these two states be the last.
Drink pretty good
