Definitely South Carolina. The hills are larger in the upstate area of SC. But the state looks the same.

Only if you could swing the border out a little bit further and catch Savannah inside South Carolina.

Sure it’s not dark red like rural north Louisiana but overall South Louisiana is RED
Dont know if you can’t see or just choose to act crazy, but looking at the map it’s basically the same. South La have just as many deep red spots and n la had just as many blues. Monroe New Orleans, Baton Rouge , Shreveport, Alexandria are usually blue

New Orleans and Baton Rouge have a lot of Cajuns and Cajun culture in them. Especially New Orleans.
lol when someone says they are from south Louisiana it’s usually someone from a lil hick town. No one from N.O. would never say they are from south Louisiana because we don’t see ourselves as being from louisiana at all lol so we damn sure don’t call ourselves cajuns. get off new orleans nuts south louisiana lol

On the whole, move all of Mississippi into the Florida swamps.

North of Shreveport is just southern Arkansas.
The Shaft ranges from East Texas to West Mississippi.
New Orleans is a shithole
The rest is what I call Purebred Louisiana.

The northern part of the state and east Texas are pretty much the same.

One of the worst, most common takes I see on this board that couldn't be more wrong. Atrociously wrong. Northern Louisiana is wayyy more similar to Mississippi and Alabama than East Texas.

East Texas Demographics: 60% White, 25% Hispanic, 15% Black

North Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama: 60% White, 40% Black. Large cities in said states: 55-60% Black, 35-40% White.

Meh barely. Geographically it for sure changes on the delta but culturally- Monroe/WM, Rustin, Shreveport, Alexandria are very culturally similiar and very similar to Longview, Tyler, Luking Nachodoches. Especially more so than Jackson.

If I had to guess, most people living in these two towns are Louisiana natives. Unlike Shreveport where it’s got a ton of Texas and Arkansas natives.

How does that explain that Longview is 20% Black yet Shreveport is 60% Black? Or Longview is 25% Hispanic and Shreveport is 0% Hispanic. This is something that no one considers in making these assumptions. East Texas really shares very little similarity with Shreveport.

Latinos don't cross East of TX/LA border, and Blacks don't really cross West of TX/LA border.

North Louisiana isn't South LA. It isn't East TX. It's much more like MS and AL. This includes any and every city like Shreveport, Monroe, Alex, Natchitoches bc they are all 50%+ black.

Minden, Homer, Shreveport, Marshall, Longview, Tyler about the same

So you consider Shreveport and Minden having a 60% Black population while Longview and Tyler are at 20% the same? or you consider Tyler and Longview having a 30% Latino population while by all accounts there's basically a 0% Latino population in Shreveport and Minden, the same?

People on this board are stupid AF. Demographics make up an extremely large part of similarity/culture.

North Louisiana isn't South LA. It isn't East TX. It's much more like MS and AL.

Living in Florida I’ve kinda made the Boston connection too a few times. Hyper localized, ton of Catholics with similar beliefs if different location and all the things that go with it.
