It's in the ghetto, but it magically turns in to a nice neighborhood two miles down the road. Birmingham proper has some really nice enclaves, surrounded by poverty.

That’s a common characteristic of every medium size city in the South. Birmingham, Jackson, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, etc. have pockets of great neighborhoods.

Unfortunately, the rest of those cities go downhill quick outside of the few nice areas.

I saw that same car a few weeks ago as I was driving through Calera,AL. There is a “spare” tire holder like that on both fenders and the trunk. Glad you posted a photo so I can show it to my wife (no pics).
