Most of those trees look like Tupelo Gums... Which look a lot like Cypress. But still...

I had a camp on the Tickfaw for 15 years, this isn’t the first speedboat I’ve seen deep in the woods, though most bounced off the trees going in, not sawed them off.

My gofast boat would only run in the upper 50’s, and it didn’t get the full juice until the lake, or that straightaway just before the Prop Stop no-wake zone. Crazy to think about trying to run those curves at nearly double that. :nope:

Those shoot-outs look interesting. Gonna clean my up my 1432 War Eagle and put new plugs in the 9.8. baby.

I fished tournaments with a friend in the late 80's out of a 19 foot Allison with a 150 merc that had been tinkered with and was producing about 225....a heap o'horspower in the late 80s on a 19 foot boat. Most, if not all, bass tournaments had a 150 HP limit at the time so or course rednecks, doing what we do, would turn a factory 150 into much more than that. That boat would do 95 easily in a light chop with 2 better than average sized men and a load of fishing gear in it. It was flat out scary. We hit a barge wake on the Cumberland river once and got about 4 feet of air over at least 25 feet...stupid fast. A damned june bug hitting you in the forehead at 90 MPH is not something I would recommend...

Must have been some nice arse on a boat such as that

I am sure there was. Might have been the cause of the wreck. Oh well now you can find that sweet stuff in the tree tops near the boat.

wonder if alcohol was involved...

By the looks of the boat it's more likely that cocaine and whores were involved.

But the other boats in the field are….

Fished a tournament out of Caernarvon, we were in my buddy’s 19’ Comanche with a 200 on it, ran about 72. Boat behind us was an 18' Skeeter with a 150 on it. We get to our spot, and kill it, 20# stringer with lunker.

Boat behind us shows up, at the same spot, 4 minute after us, and dude screams at us, you’re fishing in my spot… We both laughed…. Dude is pissed….

Speed made the difference…

Took home 2 checks over 2K, it was a good day on the water…
