re: Which online dating scene works for you?

I've gotten laid on OkCupid a few times. Met some cool chicks, haven't really met anyone who is good long-term relationship material though.
Online dating really varies depending on your location. New Orleans is good because there are single women who come here for work-related reasons and use online dating to meet new people.
Here in NOLA the selection tends to be:
- Ultra-feminist keyboard warrior types who no one wants to be with
- Normal young women who are just new to the area for work (lots of young teachers!), often don't have time to go out to bars and stuff
- Fat chicks desperate for sexual attention
- Shy, nerdy, or introverted chicks (often, but not necessarily, gamers) who are naturally more comfortable with talking to people online
- Women in their late 20s or in their 30s whose friends have mostly paired off and they're left behind for whatever reason, living the single life
Unfortunately lately there's been a huge wave of women who put "Don't message me if you voted for Donald Trump!"/"Don't message me if you're not a feminist!" or write a bunch of shite about social justice. I'm not a fan of Donald Trump and I do believe in equality, but I avoid these women because I don't expect to have a good time with anyone who gets so emotional about politics that they have to inject it into their dating profiles.
I'm a very introverted guy so I tend to go for those types of chicks. I get along with them well, they don't really want to go out on expensive dates, and the conversation is good which is important to me. Several times I've just invited them over to play video games and gotten laid without spending a dime.

I tried farmers only for one brief, shining moment of stupidity. That place is a cesspool of trash, land whales, and single moms. I exited with the quickness.

when I used OK Cupid for hookups it was mostly fat liberal chicks and a maybe 1 or 2 that were worth it. I think its because I live in a rural area that has a mid sized city nearby that using online dating for hookups isnt worth it.
at least thats how it was when I was single.

For me going online was just the lazy and easy way for a one night stand, message a little, text, meet up, frick, never talk again.

Yes if you don't want to be accused of rape.

Yes, and on the 1-900 line commercials the actual girls are REALLY the well-known porn / nudie mag chick you're seeing in the ad.
IT'S STILL REAL TO ME DAMMIT!

My overall experience is that men on these things typically have formed an overevaluation of reality and there's a reason most are single. Others just get addicted to the attention and become serial daters.

I'm currently dating someone I met in real life, and I'm about 50/50 on women I've been with whom I've met online and in real life. But what exactly is the reason you're so down on online dating? I don't understand the mentality. It's just another option, and a highly effective one.
