I'm currently dating someone I met in real life, and I'm about 50/50 on women I've been with whom I've met online and in real life. But what exactly is the reason you're so down on online dating? I don't understand the mentality. It's just another option, and a highly effective one.

I agree. Used to online dating definitely had a stigma, but as time went by and the internet became so ingrained in everyone's lives I'd say it's viewed as normal now.

I think you are missing the point of online dating for many people. It isn't the only option, it's an added option. I use to go out on Friday and Saturday nights and would approach women with moderate success. Around the same time, I would talk with women online during the week. Online dating just gives you more chances to meet someone since you can't hit up the bars every night.
