San Diego. Easiest question anyone on the OT has ever asked.

San Diego is nice but its not somewhere I'd like to live. I spent a week on Puget Sound a couple of years ago and it was fantastic. But that's all I've got.

Can't find a decent house under $750k. And property tax is about $12k a year for a house like that.

Should have thrown in Baton Rouge, LA: $300,000 to make it more interesting, and also to make the decision to choose San Diego slightly more difficult.

I'd probably go Tacoma. I enjoy the seasonal weather and scenery in the PNW. You can probably live cheaper than SD too.

ETA - I do realize that my opinion will probably be in the minority.

I don’t make $170k a year and live in a place with more expensive real estate. You’d be fine. And SD is awesome.

I would gave to imagine cost of living is quite a bit higher in San Diego than Tacoma. San Diego is a nice city, but living in the North West has its perks as well. Especially if you like outdoors.

I don’t know what Austin has to do with this, but thank you for your input. I always love a good random fact.
