Which is the worst way to go? Dying from no A/C, diarrheal disease, or being shot?

quote:

A 2026 peer-reviewed analysis based on Global Burden of Disease 2023 data estimates that about 0.46 million people in India died from diarrheal diseases in 2023, across all age groups. The same analysis estimates about 1.46 million in 1990, so the burden has fallen substantially.

The important qualification is that 460,000 is a modeled epidemiological estimate, not a literal count of death certificates saying “diarrhea.” GBD estimates deaths using mortality data, disease models, and uncertainty intervals. For context, GBD estimates about 1.11 million diarrheal-disease deaths worldwide in 2023, which makes India’s ~460k a very large share of the global total.

If you live in Louisiana your odds are pretty good at experiencing all 3 at the same time

What about dying from being shot while you're sweltering in a Port-o-let on a 100-degree day with a bad case of the runs?

Especially if you eat the lettuce from the farm in Cali where their illegals were shitting on the crops

Hard to decide from diarrheal disease or heat. I guess heat, at some point soon you'd just have a heat stroke and shut down. Diarrheal you'll get dehydrated as hell also. I'll go with no A/C

So, a heat stroke isn’t an actual “neuro stroke”.

All I know is that in the year of our Lord 2026 more people in Europe have died from heat than people killed by twin major earthquakes in a third world country in South America.

Think about that.

Well no I understand that, but I assume from working heat related illnesses before I retired, cramp up, and shut down. Heat stroke is just a generic phrase I've always used. I've worked people completely unresponsive in front yards, in bad enough heat. But most were full sun and not drinking water. I assume in OP, you can drink water, just no A/C

ETA: I reread what I said, you're correct, bad wording on my part

Gotcha. I misunderstood your statement.

Thought you were saying you would have a stroke.

Well technically that's exactly what I said, but I didn't mean it that way, poor way to word it

Whoever came up with “heat stroke” is at fault, honestly.

Pretty sure if you have no AC but choose to stay inside that oven... you really should blame yourself at some point.
