I think a lot of people would make that choice given that Waco is closer to the bigger cities in Texas.

I can’t speak for now, but used to it seemed like a ton of Baylor students moved to DFW as soon as they graduated to work, but it doesn’t sound like that would be a problem for you (meaning employment opportunities).

If you want a little land look around Lorena or valley mills or Mcgregor, buts it’s getting pricey everywhere.

I actually do like the small towns to the west of Waco around 281.

All of the cities are mentioned also have outdoors around them. But they aren’t Waco.

Waco, Killeen, and temple are some of the last cities I would ever live in Texas.

Houston is the most diverse city in the US, even more than NYC.

This is one of the most “Texas” things anybody has said, and I’m from here.

There are articles written making that argument that Houston is the most diverse (though I don’t know if they are correct).

Aledo... But we are full so don't bother unless you have 1 mill cash. Side note we have won the State Championship 10 times since 2010....

Any place that jumps to a statement like that to brag is not a place worth living.

Moved up to Liberty Hill/Georgetown from near downtown Austin. Love the area - lots to do and booming.

There really isn’t one. But Be more specific. The most similar city to baton rouge is Tyler but it’s a way nicer and way smaller Baton Rouge.

Somewhere in The valley
Corpus
Laredo could all be candidates
San Angelo is smaller but you might like it
El Paso is bigger but you might like it

With all the times I’ve flown into DFW and spent a decent amount of time there, I’d say Forth Worth IMO and I’ve been to all of the major metropolitan areas of Texas and spent a year stationed Ft. Hood while on active duty.

I’m not saying it isn’t diverse, but common sense would suggest that NYC has more diversity. What is it? 3-4 times more people? They have their own enclaves as well. Chinatown is still a thing.

You would think but I’ve seen a few publications come out with that assertion of Houston being the most diverse. Something like 163 different languages are found in Houston.

If I were relocating I’d probably choose Harlingen

Close to great fishing
Good weather
Sleepy town
Lots of hot latinas in the area
Relatively inexpensive
Good hunting in area
