I haven't lived in Sienna plantation in years, I said I own a home there. I prefer to live on the coast, so have since moving back to the U.S. Hence why the home in sienna is going on the market soon.

Sienna is fine. But it's just a master planned subdivision in Missouri City as opposed to the ones in Cinco. There is nothing about Missouri City that's superior to Katy.

shite, I only even brought up Katy in the first place Bc OP mentioned starting a family and most people are interested in things like schools, crime, and housing costs. If OP wants to spend a lot more money on a house in exchange for a shorter commute then fine, he can disregard most of this thread. Suburbs are for families and I recognize that OTers who are used to exciting locales like Mandeville and Baton Rouge could never stoop to something like Cinco Ranch.

Some things are for different people. I believe when someone asks for advice in a thread, they should hear all advice. The west side, including sienna, is all terrible, in my opinion. I'm glad you and others enjoy it, but I do not recommend it. 9 out of 10 people that complain about Houston don't even live in Houston. They live on the terrible west side.

Don't even get me started on Baton Rouge. That city is the arm pit of the south. It's on the same level as Detroit and Newark.

In these 10 years how many times have you pulled up to the wrong house because it looks identical to yours?

Sorry, it's really a terrible place, but you love you 0.23 acres and 4,200 square foot house.

Been here 7 years, and it has never happened. I have access to a park with very nice playground equipment for the kids on my street, great schools, access to miles of safe bike and running trails, 7 themed pools for the kids, and lots of other facilities and benefits. I love having a big house and access to all of those things without the hassle of maintaining any of it myself. I have become friends with all of my neighbors, and enjoy the sense of community and low crime. You sound like a bitter a-hole and I'm glad your not interested in living in my community.

Our friends moved out of Talfair. They wanted to live the "Austin Dream" and their child was the minority of one. VERY DIVERSE depending on where you are. And when I say diverse I mean it truly. Not just code for "too many black folk".

Sugarland and Fort Bend County I've heard is the most ethnically diverse county in the country. That was 3-4 years ago and stats may have changed but that just gives you an idea. I worked there for a time and it is like a parade of nations. Lol

But if that's cool with you then an intelligent argument can't be made against Sugarland.

Just make sure you know where Sugarland is and where Stafford is. Or Rosenberg.

There's nothing really wrong with sugarland but there's still plenty traffic to downtown. It's a suburb that, like Missouri City, is more diverse than Katy or Woodlands. I chose Katy Bc I personally don't look for diversity.

Appreciate the responses. I would not have to live in Sugarland but a potential place of employment is there so I really wanted an idea of what my clientele would be

Pls post a pic of your unique custom built mansion that is so interesting to look at and fits your exciting adrenaline filled BASE jumping life.

Yep, because those are the only two options. Unique custom built mansions or biege brick and stucco 3000 sq ft McMansions.

We did forget an entire group. These are the folks I usually hear complaining the loudest about how I choose to live my life.

We must have different definitions of what a mansion is. I'm close to the coast in a custom built smaller home. It's nothing even close to a mansion, but it is a nice new waterfront development.

If you believe there are only custom mansions or cookie cutters around the greater Houston area you should get out more.

Just for the record, katy is where 23 year old aggies go to breed and live next to their parents. Aggies live and die in katy. But hey it's a nice place, they do have a cheddars.

It's easy to be an elitist when you live on the coast and have a spare house in the shitty suburbs, baw.
