near campus

and if he's coming in during the summer, he might be able to grab one

and many would rather rent to a 27-year-old professional than students

Ft Worth is a FUN place

Haltom city brah! I stayed there in a studio apartment for my City of Ft Worth internal audit internship in 1989 that Dr.Glen arranged for me. Not sure if it's still kinda OK though.
Good luck.

I would find a place as close as possible to work. Commuting in the DFW metroplex is a nightmare no matter where you live. If he is dead set against Arlington, i would choose Mansfield over Fort Worth. I have family there and it is a nice community.

a town west of Ft Worth

had strict occupancy rules late into the season 90's

the cops would wave at a white driver speeder to pull over a "other" for a taillight violation

Why not live in Arlington? I live in north Arlington, but commute to south Ft Worth, it sucks. The only good thing is that there different routes to get around traffic so you aren't just stuck on I-30 in stop and go traffic.

I didn't know you lived in DFW area.

My first house was in White settlement on the outside of the loop. Good beginner homes and all the residences were white. I go back to visit a neighbor occasionally and there are a lot of non white residents in there. I don't really hear of any problems from any of them and it's a mix of hispanic and blacks. Lots of those houses have been converted to rental properties now.

Oh and there was the whole gypsie clan that lived there for awhile.

The area around Montgomery Plaza has some nice apartments. The restaurants right next to Chuys is pretty nice. Have a buddy who's son lives in them. It's always nice and a lot of night life within walking distance and quick access to the Trinity River.

Montgomery Plaza had some. . . problems in the last year or two, but it seems like it's cleaned up now. I'm not 100% sure on that so might check, but Fort Worth usually doesn't let problems persist for long.

He is definitely not set against Arlington. He honestly doesn't know much about either place. Just had some people mention Fort Worth to him.

So what are some good places in Arlington?

Changed the OP to include both places

Thanks
