In my living room. Turned the TV on to watch the news and the first plane had just hit the tower. They were thinking it was an accident until the second plane hit.

I was on my way to class at UNO - I don’t put on the tv or radio in the morning so when I got there, the professor said class was canceled unless you wanted to stay and talk about what happened
I stayed because I didn’t know what had happened
My next class was not canceled, the professor went on a rant about how if we cancel class - they win.

Business school at Tulane, woke up to the madness happening, went to campus but classes were canceled (many NYC-area students), got a case of beer from The Boot Store and climbed on top of a roof uptown to drink and watch for terrorists trying to bomb the levee.

Working hosting a site visit for a large nuke power provider. I was with ADP at the time and we thought we were pitching us doing their payroll and HR admin outsourcing. That quickly changed.
We ended up renting them a limo to get them back to Chicago from Des Moines and I had our nanny round up the kids. My youngest that day is now a special operator in the Army. Still fighting what the MIC started that day.

My apartment on brightside about to head out for class. Buddy called after first plane hit and I watched the second one hit on tv. Didn’t go to class that day.

Final day of Resistance training in the AF's SERE program. We weren't told until that night after the training was finished and we got back to the classrooms. They had a powerpoint brieifng which walked through the timelines of the different flights taking off, the towers being hit, Pentagon getting hit, and the towers collapsing. We were all in disbelief and thought they were just running another training scenario and we were going to get hauled back out to the "POW camp" for more. It wasn't until they had a Chaplain get up and start praying for the victims and families that it hit home as a real thing. Very surreal to have just gone through that type of training only to get hit with that news.

At the office. Our receptionist said a plane hit one of the towers. We didn't have any video or images at the time, and we thought some small 4 seater plane or something accidentally hit the tower.
Then the second plane hit.
Then the second plane hit.

The poster stuckintexas was a volunteer fireman and I'm pretty sure he was n New York at the time and was working near the towers.
Sadly, my local fire station was literally wiped out since they were some of the first to arrive at the WTC.
