I drive to St. Fransicville for work four days a week. I have 3 kids ages 10, 3 and 1, but they will be in private schools so school district shouldn’t be an issue. Should we buy a new house, slightly used, fixer upper or should we build? What what you do if you were in my shoes?

I'd live in St. Francisville and send them to school there.

Garden district is pretty nice. Can jump on 110 pretty easily and avoid the split

All depends on income. I'm assuming around $150-200K. There was a thread a couple weeks ago and about 6-7 subdivisions were listed. I moved from Baton Rouge 5-6 yrs ago and places have changed since then.

There are a few good areas in Baton Rouge to live. Don't know much about St. Francisville schools but it's a nice area and always enjoyed it when traveling there

Well I wouldn’t build a house in BR that’s for sure. Wouldn’t buy one there either.

St Francisville is a nice little town. I know I wouldn't pay for private school for 3 kids if I was already working up that way.

We have one in private school because we enjoy living close to work but if we had more we'd be in the suburbs.

Zachary has good public schools and isn't that far and no real traffic to speak of.

Living in St. Francisville and Zachary are out the question. I like the schools around there but that’s about it. St. Francisville is too far away from civilization and Zachary is about 3 years away from becoming Baker.

To each their own I guess. You don't want to be near North Baton Rouge so you'll be living in SBR, still dealing with the traffic and then have another 25 miles to go after you get through it.

Central is fairly close to BR and you wouldn't have to drive through BR to get to work.

I don’t like to do this often...but you’re being a dumbass.

I just feel like honesty is the best policy here. Live in St. Francisville and send your kids to school in West Feliciana. This is an arbitrage opportunity and you’re going to blow it.
