Where to live in Atlanta

Hi, moving for work in a few months to ATL for the first time. Office in in Inman Park area so I'm starting my search here. I've been told by quite a few people that is the spot.
I'm a 32 yo, single guy if that helps narrow it down.
I see most places are about 2k a month for a 600sf studio OUCH. I can do that price but if there is something close by that is lower let me know, OR if there is a particular complex that stands out in that range please advise!
And yes, I too always thought Atlanta to be a shite hole but I've visited Inman Park, O4W, Buckhead. Those places make BR look like a-hole.

25 miles or so outside the city limit would be ideal. You know... unless you can live farther away.

When you get to Atlanta, turn around and drive 2 hrs either north, south, east or west and that's where you want to be.

Decatur if you can handle hipster duffus liberals. Otherwise, move to Jackson County and commute.

Move near the Hamilton E Holmes MARTA Station and ride train to work everyday (don’t do this)

Are you trying to get him killed on day one?

Depending on your budget, anywhere on the east side of town (obviously Inman Park, Virginia-Highland, Poncey-Highland, O4W) would work.

Possibly Vinings. About 30 minute commute.

If you can find something tucked into SFH that's ideal. Be it a split townhome, carriage house, etc. Atlanta's residential neighborhoods are still quite nice, and mostly isolated from crime (not entirely).
Large developments can be problematic, even very nice ones, as seen in some really high dollar Buckhead complexes recently.
The city has a lot of problems right now, not the least of which is that city government hates people like you, but if you're 32, single and want to enjoy fall in Atlanta drinking beer on the beltline, you probably won't notice for a while. Been there, it was fun, it just doesn't last forever.

I saw a First 48 episode last week about a guy your age that was murdered in a nice apartment around there.

Vinings, Cumberland, and Sandy Springs are nice and relatively close to the city. Rent/property there is less expensive than ITP.
I live in Buckhead and while I enjoy it, it is on a steep downward slope. Crime here has gotten OOC thanks to Keisha. I'd avoid for the time being, unless you really want an affordable spot closer to the amenities.
Avoid anything south of I-20.

This.
If you're looking for an investment, Chamblee is a good spot as well. Further from work, though.
