A city?

It is on the drive from Shreveport to Houston, there is a stop sign, not even a stop light.

The place is getting a fancy golf resort though.

Pecos is pretty bad, only redeeming quality was the good tamales.

I’d say the RGV and anywhere south Tx such as Corpus and Alice, TX. Looks so depressing.

Now, that's a bit of a stretch . You won't get kidnapped by the cartel but most of Juarez is a shithole.

Relative to Cities in the US yes but relative to border towns Juarez is surprisingly nice. Lots of Juarez is pretty rough but there are some really nice areas.

I was waiting for these to come up. I don’t find Borger bad at all.

Only real answer. City leadership is a joke. Schools absolutely suck. Only redeeming quality is the plants are there and a lot of folks make a living nice at those jobs.

I've spent several years in the Permian, South Texas, East Texas, and I have been to everywhere else in the state. The worst place to live would be Mentone, but Toyah runs an extremely close second. If you want something that qualifies as a city, it's Pecos. If you want something above 100K in population, Midland/Odessa takes the cake. I would rather live in Eagle Pass or The Valley than out in Midland/Odessa. That whole area sucks for many, many, many reasons.

San Angelo blows too, as it's out in the middle of nowhere. At least they have a reservoir. That whole area sucks too.

Bro Midland/Odessa is not bad at all. That place is booming with new houses, new hotels, new bridges , construction going on everywhere. That place is blowing up. Restaurants packed to the gills every nite. Yea it s an oilfield place and theres not alot to do but there is a minor league baseball team and a small college there

Rockhounds are fun during the summers and there’s USHL hockey (Jackalopes) during the winters. I’ve been out here for almost ten years now and I’ve seen it change from when oil company’s were taking folks to the “new” Buffalo Wild Wings to having tons of gourmet options and local breweries.

Open invite to anyone who finds themselves in the Midessa area for dinner at Opal’s Table or Red Oak Kitchen
