We've gone through so many issues from "2 weeks to flatten the curve", to number of cases, to hospital beds not available, to death counts, back to number of cases, etc.

It seems like all we hear about now are the vaccine mandates, even though cases, etc are not in the news.

Are we just in a lull before the next super duper variant makes it to America?

Yes. The beatings will stop when morale picks up.

Some are trying to drag cases back into the news. A local North AL station had a story about all of this area being, "At a high risk of Covid spread". I just chuckled and kept scrolling.

The incoming cold front is guaranteed to make the virus mutate and kill 15,000 people in Louisiana the first day it spreads. Must extend mask mandate to save those lives!!

A new COVID-19 subvariant that is spreading rapidly in the United Kingdom is already here in Massachusetts, health experts say.

Known as AY.4.2, the so-called "delta plus" variant is believed to be even more contagious than the highly transmissable delta variant. One expert said it could be 10% to 15% more contagious than delta.

Notice how even with this they move the goalposts. It is now about how contagious it might potentially be. It has nothing to do with whether or not it has a worse outcome for those infected (it doesn't).

They tore the goalposts down and dragged them through the quad to the frat houses.

Well it certainly makes me feel better knowing not to panic.
