Actually we have had several named storms already, none of much consequence to the US.

This one looks like it will fall into the same category.

I think we can all agree that storms used to threaten the gulf multiple times a year from 2003-2008. The weather trend just doesn't seem that way anymore. Florida hasn't been hit by a hurricane in 10+ years. That's almost unheard of
